Wheeler Well Work Party & Spring Fling

|

By Denis & Sandi Inman

The Pahrump Valley 4 Wheelers, as one of our contributions to the community, are the primary caretaker of the plumbing that feeds a wildlife watering trough from a couple of springs up the creek. We combined a work party to bury the plastic tubing inside some metal pipe in the highest traffic areas adjacent to the water tank with our annual Spring Fling. Paul & Gary approached Ahern Equipment Rental to see about getting a discount on a trencher, but the great people at Ahern generously offered to bring up a backhoe, hand tools, 150′ of pipe and laborers at no expense to our club.

The manager of the Pahrump Nugget donated all the food for our Spring Fling barbecue and KPVM-LP covered the event for the local TV station news. Almost before the work was completed, a wild horse showed up to get a drink. In my estimation, there were about 50 people participating in the event and the wild animals in the vicinity should have a reliable source of water for some time to come. Thank you to everyone that came and a special thank you to Paul & Gary for organizing the water tank improvements as well as Ahern Equipment, the Pahrump Nugget and KPVM-LP TV for their benevolent donations.
